Ok, this is my version of the 80’s classic Kayleigh by Marillion.
There are some reasons for choosing Marillion songs as my cold season projects:
- From a musical point of view they are relatively easy to do, but they are not trivial
- In my leate teenage years and my early 20’s I used to be a big Marillion fan. It was the first band I’ver ever seen live.
- The album ‘Misplaced Childhood’ is like a mirror to my soul. It is very biographic, not only for the author’s point of view, also for mine.
- I know the lyrics by heart for a long time.
Like with ‘Grendel’, the intention is to demonstrate, that 80’s music can be transformed in well harmonized synphonic music.
Again I must admit, that the vocal part can be done better (but not by me, but I have to do it, because I want to express my intention). The flute part can also be done better (also by me, but I don’t have that much of practising time).
